Training needs worksheet

Map workplace roles to learning questions and exact course evidence in an editable worksheet.

The worksheet starts with role and activity, then records the learning need, existing evidence and the course question to resolve. It does not automatically prescribe courses.

Worked example

The worked row describes a supervisor involved in task reviews whose relevant training record has not been located. It proposes a HIRA suitability discussion rather than declaring that the person is untrained or that one course will satisfy every requirement.

Use the resource

Add separate rows where a role differs by task, site or shift. After the provider confirms the programme, record the exact title and group. Keep workplace application and employer role decisions separate from course completion.

How to use it

  1. List roles and relevant activities.
  2. Locate existing learning evidence.
  3. Confirm the requirement and course match.
  4. Group confirmed needs into a booking brief.
